Make sure to visit the "Paddle
Shack" store, which is on site. We have many items available, such
as aqua shoes for men, women and children. T-shirts, sweatshirts,
sunscreen, bug spray, bottled water, sunglasses and straps for them, water
blasters, rain ponchos, water proof cameras, water proof bags and water
proof cases. We also have items to rent such as coolers, dry bags
and pelican boxes for cell phones and cameras.
We also carry the following
Atlanta Chamber of Commerce items: Plastic water bottles, coozies,
Atlanta T-shirts and a variety of other 'Atlanta' merchandise.

Fall Colors Along The River

The upper branch
of the Thunder Bay River reaches between McCormick Lake and Lake Fifteen.
The flooding at Atlanta is above the dam in town.
The Thunder Bay River Canoe & Kayak Livery is just below the dam in town.

Between Atlanta and Hillman
the water has various depths from deep pools to ripples. Emerick
Park in Hillman, offers camping and other amenities. Below Hillman the
river widens, but continues to offer a variety of depths.
The South Branch of the Thunder
Bay River flows into Fletcher Pond and connects with Cole Creek, Bullock Creek
and Webber Creeks.
The North Branch of the Thunder
Bay River, flows out of Rush Lake and through the countryside in the northeast
corner of county.
If you are the adventurous
type and would like to take a six day trip, you can paddle the Thunder
Bay River from Atlanta to Alpena. Contact

while intoxicated is illegal. If this is your plan, use another river.
Hard liquor, kegs, party balls, glass beverage containers, and styrofoam
coolers are prohibited. NO EXCEPTIONS.
Littering is punishable by
a fine of up to $400.
Children ages ten and under
must wear USCG approved life jackets.
